Despite the name of the community, there are general rules that apply to the servers, Steam group, and the forum. They are pretty commonsense, but they are posted in the forum if you need to read them. Know them, follow them, and prove that you can use good judgement in exercising your administrative privileges against someone who doesn't.
Donating $40 or more will increase your chances of being accepted, but results, unfortunately, cannot be guaranteed. Regardless, you will receive 3 months of the other perks on the $40 list if you are accepted, and if you are declined or we are not recruiting admins, you will receive 6 months of the other perks on the $40 list.
You will not be given RCON passwords, file manager, or server host access.
Instead, you will be given access to certain admin commands available through SourceMod.
In order to be considered for admin privileges on the servers:
First and foremost, you must absolutely not have a bad history with the community. Players with more than one previous ban, or with any previous ban lasting longer than one month, are not eligible. (Votebans do not count.) If you have submitted a ban appeal and your ban was reduced to two weeks or less, you become eligible again. You must not have any previous bans of any length from the group discussion, group chat, or this forum.
You must be a regular player in the No Rules servers. It is also encouraged to add me and the other admins on Steam and join the No Rules Steam group. Players who show up once and then apply for admin privileges will likely be rejected. Admins who don't come online for unreasonably long periods of time (years, usually) may be removed.
You must have a general knowledge of SourceMod and how the plugins work. If you don't, ask me via Steam chat and I will show you the different plugins, what they do, and who can use their commands.
Your application must contain your Steam ID or community profile URL. Nicknames only will not do.
You must also state why you wish to become an admin, as well as what position you are applying for. (Basic kick/ban, or forum moderator.) Typically no more than 3-5 sentences will do. No copy-pasting other applications that were accepted. Use your own words, it's not that hard. This is just to make it harder for some people to do "drive-by" applications, which will always be rejected.
Upon approval, we will verify that the person being approved for admin access is the same person who submitted the application. We use several methods to do this. Applying using a Steam ID or profile URL other than your own will result in an automatic rejection.
Finally, threads in this board will be marked with labels according to their status. If a decision is made regarding an application, a reply will be made by a staff member notifying the applicant of the outcome of the decision. So... The labels. What do they mean?
Accepted means your application has been approved, your recruitment period is over, and you are now an admin! Congratulations!
Pending means your application is being reviewed. This label will be applied once I start reading the application.
Recruiting means your application has been approved, and you will receive your admin access privileges as soon as you can demonstrate that you are trustworthy and you know how to exercise those privileges.
Rejected means your application was rejected, unfortunately. I'm sorry. There will be a reply to the application thread stating the reason for rejection, as well as whether or not you are eligible to re-apply. Rejections due to improper application format or missing information are always eligible to re-apply, as long as the new application corrects the error.
